Last Sunday, we played a friendly cricket match with ABC Eleven at our school ground. It was thirty overs match. Both the teams had reached the playground by past nine. Being Sunday the schools were closed, so naturally, a large number of students from both the schools were present there. Most of the teachers had also come to watch the match and t encourage their respective players. Suitable seating arrangement was made for the guests and the teachers of both the schools.
We won the toss and decided to bat first. The match started at ten in the morning. Unfortunately, our openers we out for only 18 runs. The captain of our team added only 12 runs before he was declared lbw. Now, it was my turn to bat. After playing two maiden overs. I started hitting. I was run out when the score reached 70. The next batsman was Fahad. He played a splendid game and took the score to 124 runs. His 54 runs included one six and three fours. He go out, trying to hit a six. The rest of our players were all out for only 16 runs. Thus our total score was 140 runs. The others team started batting after lunch. Their opener was out for a duck. The ext four players were dismissed very quickly, two bowled, one caught behind and one declared lbw. They added 45 runs to their score. Only the captain of their team could make a stand. He was run out for 30 runs. Our fielding was superb. We took some difficult catches. I took three wickets for 40 runes. Their whole team was out for 115 runs. We won the match by 25 runs. The last hour of the match was very exciting.
We all were very happy on the success. The town Nazim of our area was the chief guest of the award giving ceremony. He had donated the victory shield for that match. The shield was given to our captain by the chief guest in never ceasing noise of cheering and clapping. Fahad was declared to be the man of the match and awarded a cash prize of rupees five hundred by the principal of our school. It was really a memorable match.
