A ROAD ACCIDENT

            An unexpected and harmful incident is called an accident. But accidents just don’t happen on their own. They are caused due to carelessness and disrespect for laws. Being a dutiful and responsible citizen, we should respect the law. These laws are mad to make life easier and safer. If we ignore traffic rules, we shall not only endanger the lives of others but our own as well.

              In Karachi, the drivers of buses, mini-buses, trucks and rickshaws drive very recklessly. They run races o the road. They don’t care about any traffic rules and even break traffic signals. The result is a number of accidents that take place daily. Last Sunday, when I was coming from Tower in a bus, I saw a very serious accident. The bus was running smoothly with normal speed. After sometime another bus of the same route over-took our bus. Our driver got furious. There stated a mad race between the two buses. It was a peak time ad M.A.Jinnah Road ha its usual heavy traffic. We tried to cool down our driver but it seemed he had gone mad. When we reached near Capri Cinema the bus collided with a taxi. We rushed to the spot. The taxi was badly smashed. The driver and passengers were lying unconscious in the pool of blood. Some damage was made to the bus. Apart from the driver three passengers were injured. The other two passengers were also injured. All the four persons were taken to he civil hospital, which was not far away from there. I also went with them. I also went with them. The driver died soon after reaching the hospital. The other two were admitted into the hospital while one went home after first aid. I was badly shocked to see this accident. It was the result of careless driving on the part of the bus driver. He ran away leaving the bus.

            This is all because we disobey traffic rules. Our obedience to rules may be helpful n avoiding accidents. In this connection heavy responsibility rests on the traffic police. The police must be strict to the violators of traffic rules. Reckless and negligent drivers must be punished heavily. Licenses should be issued to the drivers who are mentally and physically fit.
